The Trout Tongue Snapback from Clear Water Trading Co. is for the fly fisherman who takes the fishing seriously and the rest of it exactly as seriously as it deserves. The patch says everything — the iconic lips-and-tongue silhouette, but instead of rock and roll, it's a brown trout tongue. Spotted, golden, iridescent, outlined in orange. It is absolutely, completely, perfectly ridiculous. And it is one of the greatest hat patches ever made.
The deep brown structured crown gives it just enough class to keep it from going full chaos, and the warm floral print mesh back brings a retro festival energy that somehow makes the whole thing work even harder. The orange rope brim detail ties directly to the orange patch outline and the trout's golden tones. The whole hat is cohesive, intentional, and utterly unhinged in the best possible way.
